Description
This application processes the text, counting the most frequent words. These are then displayed with the size of each word scaled according to it's frequency in the text. Certain, common words are excluded from the processing, see the 'Common' tab.
The words are then packed towards the centre avoiding overlaps. Certain aspects of the algorithm can be adjusted on the 'Controls' tab, e.g. checking the 'Randomize' box randomizes the initial position of the words.

You'll need an up to date version of Firefox, Safari or Chrome to use this application as I didn't realise that text support was such a recent addition to the canvas specification. Opera and IE don't provide any support for text on the canvas element.

Of course is a basic development, due to space limitations, but powerfull enough to implement diferent "data aesthetics" alternatives and create true art with words... you could try with colors, shades, paths... even with 3D deep and blur depending on word statistics (parallax and pixel-shaders could do the trick)... maybe the next year...
