Does not new technology entice one to return to classic problems and see again with fond memories the world back then? And when the going gets tough, do you still remember to type help? Although it seems simple, it is only with HTML5 that one is enabled to “gestalten” the past within 10K. See if you stumble on the DOS local storage (10MB hard disk included!) available, the state of the art editor and the window handling with Python scripts.

Thursday, January 21, 2010 5:43 AMA footnote for the technical inclined: 10K sounds like a lot, but when it really comes down to it, it does tax the imagination and forces hard decisions between added small features versus showing state of the art programming. As such, additional defensive programming to protect against common user interaction errors was waived in favour of state of the art features. Some of the ideas I used: - Local storage (window.localStorage) - Editable content blocks (via contenteditable) - Python script based window movement (including browser-independent event handlers)

Friday, December 31, 2010 11:22 AMSeeing the DOS reference really did bring back memories! Pretty crazy stuff what we once had to go through just to see what files we had on a computer! I can't wait to see what my kids think about our computer software 20+ years from now.
